The Platform Nano is a single-channel control surface that adds tactile mixing to a digital audio workstation over USB. It has one 10-bit touch-sensitive motorized fader, four push-and-turn encoders plus a main encoder ringed by an 11-segment LED, a jog wheel, and illuminated buttons for mute, solo, record, automation and transport. Track and bank buttons let the user step through a mix one channel or eight channels at a time, and a backlit LCD shows channel names and values.
The unit speaks Mackie Control and HUI, so it works with most major DAWs, and overlays are supplied for Cubase/Nuendo, Logic Pro X, Ableton Live, Pro Tools, Studio One, Bitwig, FL Studio, Reaper and others. Eight colour-coded function buttons across five colour layers switch between control sets, and a 12-segment display shows time in SMPTE or bars:beats:ticks. The case is metal with a Kensington lock port.
It connects over USB 3.0 and is class-compliant on Mac and Windows. Two 1/4 inch jacks accept footswitches. Optional extras include the Platform D2 or D3 display, the Platform Air PN-1 module for Bluetooth and battery use, and other Platform extension modules. iMap mapping software is supplied, along with Bitwig Studio 8-Track and several plugin bundles.
