The Platform Nano Air is a small DAW controller built around one full-size, touch-sensitive motorized fader with 10-bit resolution. Alongside it are one main encoder plus four dual-function rotary encoders, a jog wheel, and illuminated buttons for Mute, Solo, Record, Automation, Zoom, Track, Bank and six transport functions. Banking moves through the mix in groups of 8 channels or one channel at a time. A backlit LCD shows channel names and values, and a 12-segment display shows time position in SMPTE or MIDI beat clock format.
The unit speaks the Mackie Control and HUI protocols, so it works with most major DAWs. Overlays are supplied for Cubase/Nuendo, Logic Pro X, Ableton Live, Pro Tools, Studio One, Bitwig, FL Studio, Reaper, Reason, Digital Performer, Samplitude, Sonar, Audition and a user-defined mode. The iMap software handles custom MIDI mapping and firmware updates. A software bundle with Bitwig Studio 8-Track and several plugin collections is included.
It connects over USB 3.0 or Bluetooth, with a built-in 3000mAh rechargeable battery rated for about 5-6 hours of use. Two 1/4 inch jacks accept footswitches, and a connector is provided for the optional Platform D3 OLED display. The casing is metal with a Kensington lock port.
