Platform Air is an add-on module designed for the Platform Nano and Platform Nano Air. It provides wireless connectivity so the controller can be used without a cable connection to the computer, and it carries its own power source.
The module includes a 2.4G wireless link (Generation 4.0) and Bluetooth connectivity. A built-in 3000 mAh lithium-ion polymer rechargeable battery supplies roughly 5 to 6 hours of continuous operation.
Setup and updates are handled through Smart Install software, which covers iMAP and firmware, available for both macOS and Windows, and a quickstart guide is offered for download. The product relies on legacy 32-bit software, so it may not work with every current 64-bit computer. Firmware is recognised on Intel, M1 to M3 and AMD processors, but the firmware update itself can only be run from an Intel or M1 computer.
