LivePod is a pocket-sized effects processor that sits between a microphone and a phone or computer, adding vocal processing and sampled sound effects to streamed audio. A four-core DSP chip with external SDRAM runs nine effect presets, three tone-shifting presets and eight built-in samplers, with fine-tune buttons for adjusting the tone.
A second stereo input accepts background music or other audio. A voiceover mode lowers the music level automatically while the user speaks, and a loop-back button and a dry-record button control what is sent back and recorded. Eight-LED meters show microphone and line-in levels, a four-colour LED shows battery status, and each input has its own gain control. A direct monitor switch is also provided.
Connection is by 3.5 mm cable, either through a TRRS jack for a mobile phone or through the audio interface of a computer, with a headset output for monitoring. Power comes from a rechargeable battery charged over Micro-USB, and the casing is metal with a Kensington lock port.
