The iPlug M is a condenser microphone designed to be used with Apple iPad, iPhone and iPod touch devices. It is aimed at vocal and instrument recording and has an extended frequency response intended to give a smooth, natural sound. Its cardioid pickup pattern adds resistance to feedback, and the capsule is described as having very high sensitivity.
The body is all metal, with a dent-resistant spring steel grille that has a windscreen built in. An on/off switch is fitted, and the microphone runs on a battery, which allows it to be used away from a power source. The connector is a corrosion-resistant, gold-plated XLRM-type.
The microphone connects to the Apple device through the included iPad, iPhone or iPod touch compatible cable. A carry bag is also supplied, and a Quickstart guide is available for download.
