The iKeyboard 8Nano pairs a velocity-sensitive, semi-weighted 88-key keyboard with a one-channel DAW control surface. It has pitch bend and modulation wheels, octave and transpose buttons, and a push-and-turn encoder ringed by an 11-segment LED. Several velocity curves can be selected, and the chassis is metal with a Kensington lock port.
It includes ready-made presets for Cubase, Nuendo, Logic Pro, Reason, Pro Tools, Ableton Live, Samplitude and Studio One. These use Mackie Control, or HUI for Pro Tools, and the unit can also be set to general MIDI values. The bundled iMap software lets every control be remapped to any MIDI application, and firmware is updated over USB through iMap.
The keyboard connects over USB 2.0 and is class-compliant, so it needs no driver on Windows, macOS or iOS. A MIDI output jack, an expression pedal input and a sustain pedal input (TRS, with reversible polarity) are provided. Bundled software includes Bitwig 8Track, Dotec audio plugins, the Tracktion DAW Essentials Collection, Kilohearts Toolbox plugins and the Harrison 32c Vocal Intensity Processor.
