The iKeyboard 6 pairs a five-octave, semi-weighted keyboard with a one-channel DAW controller. The keys are full size and have selectable velocity curves, and pitch bend and modulation are handled by two touch strips. Transpose and octave buttons shift the playing range.
The control section has a backlit touch fader with LED feedback for levels and automation, mute, solo and record-arm buttons, track and bank selection, and six transport buttons. A rotary encoder with an 11-segment LED ring handles panning, sends and plugin parameters. All buttons are illuminated, and a 3-segment LED screen gives feedback.
Automatic mapping uses the Mackie Control and HUI protocols, with presets for Cubase, Nuendo, Logic Pro, Pro Tools, Ableton Live, Samplitude and Studio One. The iMap software lets any control be mapped to other MIDI applications. Connections are USB 2.0, a MIDI output, and expression and sustain pedal jacks. Cubase LE is included. This is a legacy device that relies on 32-bit software, so it may not work with all modern 64-bit computers.
