CubeMi 5 is a compact USB MIDI interface with five MIDI inputs and five MIDI outputs, which the maker describes as 80×80 MIDI channels. Each port has its own activity indicator, and the unit is designed for accurate MIDI timing.
It connects to the computer over USB 2.0 and takes its power from the USB bus, so no external supply is needed. On Mac and Windows it works as a class-compliant plug-and-play device with no IRQ, I/O address or DMA setup. A MultiPlat driver for 32-bit and 64-bit Windows adds support for multiple applications using the interface at once; the driver is available as a download, along with a user manual and quickstart guide.
The package includes software: Bitwig Studio 8-Track, Dotec audio plugins, the Tracktion DAW Essentials Collection, Kilohearts Toolbox plugins and the Harrison 32c Vocal Intensity Processor plugin. Supported systems are Windows 7 to 11 and macOS from 10.11 El Capitan to macOS 13 Ventura, on Intel, Apple silicon (M1 and M2 families) and AMD processors.
