The LINEAR 5 MK2 308 LTA is a powered mid/high unit built around a horn-loaded, bass-reflex birch plywood cabinet. Three vertically arranged 8-inch cone drivers handle bass and mids, and a 1-inch compression driver on an MCT horn covers the highs. The horn gives a 60° horizontal and asymmetric +5/-25° vertical dispersion pattern, and the maker states coverage of up to 40 metres and around 3000 people without delay lines.
A class D biamped amplifier delivers 600 W RMS (1200 W peak) and is paired with a DSP that provides a 10-band parametric EQ, high-pass and low-pass filters, polarity, level, delay, limiter and mute. Onboard filter presets cover single, cluster, headstack and remote use. The unit can be set up alone, in clusters or as headstacks, and a rain cover set is supplied.
Connections are an XLR/jack combo input, an XLR analog output, an XLR DSP output, PowerCon NAC3 in and thru for mains, and two Ethercon ports for network in and out with Milan digital audio transmission. HK Audio DSP CONTROL software for Windows and Mac handles remote control.
