The LINEAR 5 MK2 115 Sub A is an active subwoofer in a bass-reflex cabinet built around a 15-inch cone driver with a 3-inch voice coil. A Class D amplifier delivers 600 W RMS and 1200 W peak. The response reaches down to 44 Hz at -6 dB and 40 Hz at -10 dB, with the upper limit set by the crossover. Maximum SPL is 127 dB average and 130 dB peak.
Onboard DSP provides a parametric 10-band EQ with variable filter characteristics, a low-pass filter, polarity, level, delay, limiter and mute. Filter presets cover Front, Cardioid 1:1 vertical, Cardioid 1:1 horizontal and Remote, so cardioid arrangements can be chosen without manual programming. Stereo preamplifier inputs and outputs simplify 2.1 setups. The DSP can be controlled with the DSP CONTROL software for Windows and macOS.
Connections include two XLR/jack combo inputs, two XLR outputs, a dedicated XLR DSP output, and Ethercon RJ45 network input and output, with digital audio transmission over Milan. The hybrid birch plywood and MDF cabinet has two MultiGrip handles and an M20 pole mount, and weighs 32.9 kg.
