The LINEAR 5 MK2 112 XA is an active two-way speaker built around a 12" cone driver and a 1" compression driver on a rotatable constant-directivity horn. A bass-reflex cabinet with a slanted monitor edge lets it work either as a stage monitor with low feedback risk or as a mid/high unit paired with subwoofers. Horizontal and vertical coverage is 80° x 60°, and the narrow pattern means the horn does not normally need rotating when the box is placed on its side.
On board are a DSP preamplifier and a Class D bi-amped power stage rated at 600 W RMS and 1200 W peak. The DSP offers a parametric 10-band EQ, high-pass and low-pass filters, polarity, level, delay, limiter and mute, with filter presets named Flat, Monitor, Low Cut and Remote. Settings can be controlled from the DSP CONTROL software for Windows and macOS.
Connections include an XLR/jack combo input, an XLR link output, a separate DSP output on XLR, an Ethercon network port for MILAN digital audio transmission and an IEC mains inlet with V-lock. The hybrid birch plywood and MDF cabinet has two handles, a pole mount with DuoTilt angles and M8 rigging points.
