The LINEAR 5 112 X is a passive, bass-reflex mid/high cabinet built around a 12" cone driver with a 2.5" voice coil and a 1" compression driver with a 1.75" voice coil. It handles 500 W RMS (1000 W program) into 8 ohms, reaches 135 dB peak SPL, and covers 100 Hz to 18 kHz (-6 dB). The crossover sits at 1.7 kHz, and a PTC circuit protects the high-frequency driver.
The cabinet is designed for use as a main speaker alongside the Linear Sub 2000 in a system, or on its own as a floor monitor with a 33° monitor angle. The constant-directivity horn can be rotated, giving 60° x 40° coverage in either orientation. Rigging and mounting options include a pole mount with DuoTilt 3°/7° and three M8 rigging points. Two handles, a MultiGrip and a SingleGrip, are fitted for transport.
Connection is by NL4 Speakon, with one input and one parallel output wired on pins 1+/-. Presets and filter sheets are available for Lab.gruppen IPX and IPD amplifiers, plus Lake. The enclosure is hybrid birch plywood and MDF in jet black, with a steel grille backed by acoustic foam.
