CDP2A MK2
The CDP2A MK2 is an entry-level CD player from Hegel, built on the design of the maker's reference CDP4A and using the same in-house CD drive mechanism. It offers balanced and unbalanced analog outputs plus a coaxial digital output for hi-fi systems.

The CDP2A MK2 plays CDs through a drive mechanism designed by Hegel and shared with the larger CDP4A. The converter stage uses multilevel 24-bit/192 kHz DACs with synchronised upsampling on a surface-mounted audio board, supported by Hegel's own analog stages and a master clock circuit specified for jitter below 14 ps.
Operation is handled by two front buttons. The left one switches the unit on and off and steps between tracks, while the right one opens and closes the tray and starts or stops playback.
For connections, the player has RCA unbalanced and XLR balanced analog outputs, both at a 2.3 V signal level, and a 75 ohm S/PDIF RCA digital output that can feed an external DAC such as the Hegel HD10. It can be used with any music system, and the maker suggests pairing it with Hegel amplifiers and preamplifiers. The model is listed among the maker's discontinued products.
