GS3000

The GS3000 is an open-air dynamic headphone and the flagship of the Classic Series. It uses a 52mm X2 driver with a Mylar diaphragm, copper voice coil and rare earth magnets. The larger diaphragm is intended to give deeper bass extension and more dynamic headroom than smaller drivers in the range.

Each housing combines an outer shell of cocobolo hardwood with a precision machined aluminum inner insert, which adds rigidity and helps control resonance. The Signature Gold headband assembly has engraved aluminum alloy gimbals, stainless steel height rods and reinforced aluminum junction blocks. A wide genuine leather headstrap with white stitching sits over an internal steel spring band that lets the user adjust clamping pressure.

The headphone is supplied with Grado's Gold cable and G cushions, which hold the drivers farther from the ears to widen the perceived stage. Cushions can be swapped to change the sound. A version with the cable terminated in an XLR connector is offered as an option.
