Gold4
The Gold4 is a high-output moving iron phono cartridge in Grado's Prestige Series, fitted with an elliptical diamond stylus on an aluminum cantilever. It suits turntable owners who want a user-serviceable cartridge in standard 1/2-inch or P-mount form.

Gold4 is a moving iron cartridge built on Joseph Grado's patented flux-bridger principle. The coil stays fixed while the moving mass remains very low. Its output is high enough to work with a wide range of phono stages. The housing is die-injection molded.
The stylus is a bonded elliptical diamond on an aluminum cantilever. The stylus assembly can be replaced by the user, and all Prestige Series styli are interchangeable between models. Internally the signal path uses 5N OCC copper. Each cartridge is cryogenically treated and internally damped to reduce unwanted resonance.
The cartridge is offered in two mounting versions: a standard half-inch screw mount and a P-mount. It outputs 4 mV, has a 10-55,000 Hz frequency response and weighs 6 grams. Tracking force is 1.6-1.9 grams, and the recommended input load is 10k-47k ohms.
