Large wall-mountable active main monitor in Genelec's SAM series, based on the earlier 1035 and updated with 96 kHz processing. It suits control rooms that need high output over long listening distances and room calibration through GLM software.

The 1235A is a three-way active main monitor built around two 381 mm bass drivers, two 125 mm midrange drivers and a 25 mm compression treble driver. Each driver group has its own Class D amplifier in a separate rack-mounted amplifier unit, and an active crossover splits the signal ahead of the amplifiers. A Directivity Control Waveguide shapes the dispersion to keep the response consistent off axis, and driver protection circuitry lowers the level when limits are reached.
As a Smart Active Monitoring model, it works with Genelec's GLM software and AutoCal 2 calibration, which adjusts level, delay and room response compensation for the listening space. Settings can be stored in the monitor so they remain if the GLM network is disconnected. Calibration needs the free GLM software plus a 9320A SAM Reference Controller or a GLM Calibration Kit, both sold separately. Intelligent Signal Sensing puts the monitor into a low-power sleep state when no signal is present, and it can be switched off on the back panel.
It has an analogue XLR input, an AES/EBU XLR input and output, and two RJ45 connectors for the GLM network. It is available complete or as an upgrade kit for owners of 1035A or 1035B models.
