PLASMA Rack
A 1U rackmount analog distortion unit that runs the signal through a xenon-filled plasma tube driven at up to 5,500 volts. It is aimed at studio and professional users, such as sound designers, synth and guitar players, who want a distinctive, harmonically rich distortion.

The Plasma Rack passes the incoming signal through a high-voltage step-up flyback transformer, which turns it into a series of electrical discharges inside a sealed, xenon-filled tube. A receiver picks up those discharges and converts them back to audio-level signal, giving a heavy distortion rich in harmonics and overtones. The unit sits in a single rack space and is built for studio and professional use.
It has an unbalanced instrument input and a balanced combo mic/line input with a switchable -20 dB pad, plus unbalanced and balanced outputs. Three FX loops (send and return pairs) allow other processors to be placed in the chain. Shaping tools include a three-band Baxandall EQ that can be controlled over MIDI, a tremolo with a rate up to 2600 Hz, and a depth control that blends in or out of phase between the clean and distorted signals.
MIDI in, out and thru on 5-pin DIN connectors and an expression pedal input provide external control. The internal switch-mode power supply accepts 90–245 VAC at 50/60 Hz, so the unit can be used across regions.
