The Vintage Fifteen is a two-way floorstanding speaker sold as a pair. It uses one 380mm multi-fibre mid/bass cone with a 75mm titanium alloy dome compression tweeter on a neodymium magnet system, arranged as a coincident point source. The two sections hand over at 750Hz through a bi-wired, low-loss passive crossover with second-order slopes that has been deep cryogenically treated.
The cabinet is a large twin-cavity birch ply enclosure with extensive internal bracing, finished in oiled walnut veneer with solid walnut trim. It is ported downwards and uses a BassTrax Tractrix diffuser to disperse the port output. Two adjustments let the listener tailor the sound: high-frequency energy (750Hz to 26kHz) and presence (2.5kHz to 5.0kHz), each by +/- 3dB.
With 97dB sensitivity and an 8 Ohm nominal impedance, the speaker accepts amplifiers rated from 20 to 400 watts RMS. Connection is by bi-wired speaker terminals. Each speaker weighs 92.9kg, so placement and handling need planning.
