The Vintage Classic XII is a two-way floorstanding speaker in a large rectangular cabinet modelled on 1970s hi-fi loudspeakers. The cabinet is walnut-veneered high density fibreboard with extensive internal bracing, fitted with a black baffle. A 300mm IsoFlare point-source driver with a multi-fibre bass and midrange cone handles most of the range, with a 75mm titanium alloy dome compression tweeter at its centre.
Sensitivity is 96dB with an 8 ohm nominal impedance, so it can be driven by amplifiers from 20 up to 350 watts RMS. Continuous power handling is 175 watts RMS and peak handling is 700 watts. Crossover is at 750Hz, using a bi-wired, low loss second-order passive network treated with the Cryo-Lite process. Two user adjustments, for high frequency energy and for presence, let the balance be tuned to the room.
Bass output comes from a downward-firing port that works with a BassTrax Tractrix diffuser. The cabinet weighs 54.5kg each and the speakers are sold as a pair. Bi-wiring is supported through the crossover design.
