The Vintage Classic Gold X SP is a two-way floorstanding loudspeaker sold as a pair. Its 250mm IsoFlare driver uses a multi-fibre bass/midrange cone with a FyneFlute surround, and the 75mm titanium alloy dome compression tweeter sits at its centre so both work as a single point source. A neodymium magnet system drives the unit, and the crossover is set at 750Hz.
The cabinet is made from high-density birch ply with extensive internal bracing and has a twin-cavity design with a downward-firing port. A BassTrax Tractrix diffuser spreads bass energy evenly in all directions, which is intended to make positioning less critical. The finish is walnut veneer with gold accents.
The passive crossover is bi-wired, low loss and cryogenically treated. Two adjustments let the listener trim the sound: high frequency energy (750Hz to 26kHz) and presence (2.5kHz to 5.0kHz), each by +/- 3dB. Sensitivity is 94dB and impedance is 8 ohms, so the speaker suits a wide range of amplifiers from 20 to 280 W RMS.
