Utopia is an open-back, full-range dynamic headphone built around 40 mm pure Beryllium 'M'-shaped dome drivers. The drivers work without active or passive correction, and the grilles are also M-shaped to follow the dome and improve treble linearity. A voice coil made of copper and aluminium combines reliability with low weight.
The headphones weigh 490 g. A recycled forged carbon yoke spreads the weight across the head, and memory-foam ear pads and a genuine leather headband are used for comfort. Honeycomb grilles, Black Chrome rings and a Yin & Yang motif on the outer shell make up the styling. A running-in period of several hours is needed to reach full performance.
Connection is by detachable cables with Lemo connectors: a 1.5 m cable with a 3.5 mm jack, a 3 m cable with a 4-pin XLR, and a 3.5 mm to 6.35 mm adapter. A black leatherette cabinet and a thermoformed carrying case are supplied. An optional stand is available separately.
