Trio6

Trio6 is an active three-way studio monitor built around an 8" bass driver, a 5" midrange driver, both with "W" sandwich cones, and a 1" pure beryllium inverted-dome tweeter. The bass and midrange sections are each driven by a 100 W class G amplifier, and the tweeter by a 50 W class AB amplifier. Frequency response in 3-way mode runs from 35 Hz to 40 kHz (±3 dB), with a peak maximum SPL of 115 dB at 1 m.

A dual Focus Mode, switched by footswitch, changes the speaker from a 3-way monitor to a 2-way (midrange and tweeter) or a 1-way full-range (midrange only) monitor, so a mix can be checked on smaller systems. Other controls include a variable high-pass filter (45, 60 or 90 Hz, or full range), a 160 Hz parametric filter intended to reduce console reflections, bass, low-mid and treble level adjustments of ±3 dB, sensitivity control and a switchable automatic standby. The aluminium plate holding the tweeter and woofer rotates in 90° steps, allowing vertical or horizontal placement with the bass drivers centred or on the outside.

The cabinet is made from thick MDF with internal reinforcement to limit vibration, and the woofer suspensions use TMD technology. Audio input is via balanced XLR (10 kOhm), and the speaker is offered in a black finish.
