The pedal is a class-A overdrive built around a JFET circuit that runs at 18V internally, aimed at high headroom and a response that follows playing dynamics. Drive and Tone knobs and a Voice switch set the gain character. Voice A gives a tight, natural overdrive, and voice B gives a smoother, thicker lead sound. A rear Tight switch removes some bass before the drive stage for a more focused feel.

A standalone 3-band EQ with active Bass, Middle and Treble controls can be switched in separately. Each band has a centre detent for flat response. An EQ Placement switch puts the EQ before the drive, where it changes which frequencies get clipped, or after it, where it reshapes the finished drive tone.

The rear panel also has a Multiswitch for latching or momentary footswitch action, and a switch for true bypass or buffered bypass. A relay bypasses the pedal automatically when no power is present. Jacks are on the top edge of the aluminum enclosure. It runs from a 9V center-negative DC adaptor, which is not included.
