The Hammertone Overdrive is a single-effect overdrive pedal built around a Fender-designed analog circuit. It can push an already cranked amp into heavier distortion or add warmth and grit to a clean sound. A pre-gain mid boost adds extra midrange before the gain stage for a tighter, more cutting tone.

An internal trim-pot lets the player reduce very high frequencies, which helps with single-coil pickups and bright amps. The enclosure is aluminum with metal hardware, and the knobs carry an "F" logo in a custom colour. The finish is gray with red accents.

The input and output jacks are on the top edge, which saves board space and gives more routing options. Switching is true bypass. Power comes from a 9-volt battery or a centre-negative AC adaptor; the adaptor is not included. The pedal draws 80 mA.
