The Bassman Compressor is a single-purpose compression pedal designed around the dynamic range of bass instruments. It uses RMS-style compression, as found in studio rack compressors. Front-panel level, compression and blend controls handle the main settings, while two slide switches choose between two preset ratio settings (light compression or smooth limiting) and two release settings.

For finer adjustment, the back cover opens to reveal internal attack and release knobs. The blend control returns some unprocessed signal to the output to keep fullness and natural dynamics. A side-mounted pad switch adapts the input to active basses. Bypass is by soft-touch relay true bypass, and the pedal falls back to bypass automatically when no power is present.

The pedal has a single 1/4" input, with jacks mounted on the top edge to save board space. It runs from a 9V battery or a 9VDC centre-negative adapter, which is not included. The enclosure is aluminium. It belongs to the Bassman pedal series.
