The Avalon is a tenor ukulele in the California Coast Ukuleles series and the larger counterpart to the Venice soprano. The tenor body gives more bass and a fuller sound than soprano or concert sizes, and suits both strumming and fingerpicking. The top, back and sides are laminated basswood with cream binding and a satin finish, with fan bracing inside.

The Nato neck has a slim C profile, a flat walnut fingerboard with 19 frets, white dot inlays and a plastic nut 35 mm wide. Scale length is 432 mm. Open-back geared tuners with chrome hardware hold the tuning, and the painted 4-in-line headstock copies the Stratocaster shape.

A walnut pull-through bridge does away with tying knots, so string changes are quick. It is a right-handed instrument supplied without a case or gig bag, and it comes in six finishes: Daphne Blue, 2-Color Sunburst, Black, Natural, Surf Green and Cherry.
