Erica Synths Razornator

Erica Synths Razornator – Stereo Resonator FX Unit

The Erica Synths Razornator is a stereo resonator effects unit built around an algorithm developed in collaboration with Dutch audio specialists 112dB. At its core sit five chromatically tuned resonating delay lines that emulate the resonance of physical objects, rooms and instrument bodies, turning any incoming signal into rich, pitched and metallic textures.

Key Features

• Five Tuned Resonators: Five chromatically tuned resonating delay lines (ten resonators as five stereo pairs) recreate the resonance of objects, spaces and instruments.
• Resonant Lowpass Filter: A dedicated lowpass filter with resonance control shapes the signal before it reaches the resonator bank.
• Up to +24 dB Input Gain: The front-end gain stage can drive the input hard, effectively working as an analogue-style overdrive.
• Compressor and Envelope Follower: A built-in compressor limits and glues the summed signal, while the envelope follower can dynamically control resonator tuning.
• Full MIDI Control: All twelve parameters are MIDI controllable, with resonator tunings playable via MIDI and save, recall and preset morphing on board.
• True Stereo Signal Path: Stereo in and out throughout, with a configurable footswitch input for hands-free performance control.

Customer Benefits

The Razornator lets you move from subtle resonant colouring to dramatic, pitched drones and chaotic textures with a few twists of its hands-on controls. Because the resonators are chromatically tuned and MIDI playable, you can lock effects to the key of a track or perform tuned resonance in real time. Preset save, recall and morphing make it equally at home in a structured studio session or an evolving live set.

Pros & Cons

✅ Pros:

• Five chromatically tuned, MIDI-playable resonators
• Resonant filter, compressor and envelope follower in one unit
• Generous input gain doubling as analogue-style overdrive
• Preset save, recall and morphing
• True stereo path in a rugged aluminium case

⚠️ Cons:

• Deep feature set has a learning curve
• Requires an external power supply
