The Game Capture 4K Pro is an internal PCIe 2.0 x4 capture card with HDMI 2.1 input and output. It passes the source signal through to the display at up to 8K60, including HDR10, variable refresh rate and auto low latency mode, and records or streams a capture feed of up to 4K60 HDR10 on Windows. Lower resolutions allow higher frame rates, with 1080p capture listed up to 240 fps and passthrough up to 240 Hz.
The capture feed can be sent to several applications simultaneously, so raw gameplay can be recorded while streaming in OBS Studio or another app. Elgato Studio software offers unlimited recording without watermarks, a separate microphone track, flashback recording of cached gameplay, a library with Smart Folders, and export of separate video and audio tracks as AAF files for editors such as Adobe Premiere and Vegas Pro. HDR sources can be tone mapped to SDR on the device.
A source connects to the HDMI input and a display to the HDMI output, with the card installed in a PCIe x4 or larger Gen 2 or newer slot. It works with consoles such as PS5, PS5 Pro, Xbox Series X and Nintendo Switch, with Steam Deck and ROG Ally, and with PCs. A 3.5 mm stereo analog line-in is provided for use with Chat Link Pro. Windows is the officially supported operating system.
