The RTG is a small battery or adapter powered synth box that produces random, continuously shifting pitches covering over four octaves. It is a reissue of an EHX synthesizer first released in 1980, and it is intended to be combined with other effects to build textured, unpredictable soundscapes.
Controls are kept minimal. A Rate knob sets how quickly new tones are generated, and a Glide switch adds portamento so the pitch slides between notes instead of jumping. A footswitch turns the unit on and off, with an LED showing its state.
Connection is equally simple: a single 1/4" output jack carries the signal. Power comes from a standard 9V supply or from a 9V battery, which is included. The enclosure measures 70 x 115 x 54 mm. The model was discontinued in 2019.
