Riddle
The Riddle is a fully analog envelope filter built for guitar, covering 80 Hz to 5 kHz with low-pass, band-pass and high-pass modes. It suits guitarists who want funky, wah-like envelope sweeps with optional distortion and expression pedal control. Discontinued in 2021.

The Riddle is a mono, true-bypass envelope filter whose circuit is entirely analog and tuned to the frequency response of a guitar. The filter responds to playing dynamics and sweeps between a start and a stop frequency within an 80 Hz to 5 kHz range. A three-way mode control selects low-pass, band-pass or high-pass filtering, and the Q control sets the resonance of the filter.
Sweep behaviour is shaped with Attack, Decay, Start, Stop and Sensitivity knobs, while Blend mixes the dry and filtered signals. A separate footswitch engages a switchable analog distortion circuit designed for guitar, which can add anything from light bite to heavy crush. An optional expression pedal can take over manual control of the filter sweep.
The pedal has a 1/4" mono input, a mono Effect output for the amplifier and a separate Direct output carrying the signal from the input. A 9.6VDC 200mA power adapter is supplied. The maker lists the model as discontinued in 2021, with an original release year of 2009.
