The Golden Small Stone is a recreation of the original 1970s Small Stone phaser circuit, built with original-spec parts and old-stock CA3094 chips. It was released in 2025 to mark the 50th anniversary of the first compact Small Stone, in a run limited to 600 units. The maker lists it as sold out.
Controls are kept simple. A RATE knob sets the speed of the phase sweep, and a COLOR switch changes the character of the effect: the lower position gives a full, robust phase shift, and the upper position gives a more pronounced, hollowed-out shift. A footswitch toggles the effect, and a status LED lights when the effect is on. The pedal is true bypass and fully analog, with a mono signal path.
It connects through an INST input jack and an AMP output jack. Power comes from a 9V battery that is included, or from an optional 9.6VDC-200mA adapter sold separately (center-negative, 2.1mm plug). Each unit comes in a wooden box with a velvet bag, a certificate of authenticity, a holographic sticker and a laser-etched serial number.
