The Enigma is a fully analog envelope filter tuned for the frequency range of bass guitar, sweeping across 40 Hz to 3 kHz. Start and Stop knobs set where the filter sweep begins and ends, while Attack and Decay control how fast it moves between those points and how sensitively it resets. Q sets resonance, Sensitivity sets how strongly the input triggers the filter, and a three-way Mode switch selects low pass, band pass or high pass. A Blend knob mixes the dry and filtered signals.
A separate footswitch engages an analog distortion circuit designed for bass, from light bite to heavy crush, and its LED lights when it is active. The main footswitch uses true bypass. An optional expression pedal can be plugged in to control the filter sweep by foot instead of by the envelope.
The pedal has a 1/4 inch mono input, a mono Effect output that goes to the amp, and a separate Dry output carrying the direct input signal. It runs from the supplied 9.6VDC 200mA adapter and draws 150mA. It was released in 2009 and discontinued in 2022.
