The Deluxe Big Muff Pi 2 is an analog fuzz built around a Big Muff circuit with two dual op-amps. It keeps the midrange-heavy fuzz character and long sustain of the Big Muff family, and adds tools for shaping it. Volume, Tone and Sustain handle level, EQ and gain, while a Blend knob mixes the clean and fuzzed signals and a Gate knob sets the noise gate threshold.
A three-position Wicker switch opens up the high end in two steps (Half and Full), and the Off position gives the standard Big Muff Pi 2 voicing. The parametric mids section has its own footswitch and LED, a High/Low Q switch, and Frequency and Level controls. The Level control can boost or cut up to 10 dB, and the frequency sweeps from roughly 310 Hz to 5.0 kHz.
An EXP jack accepts a TRS expression pedal or a 0 to 5 V control voltage signal on a TS plug to sweep the mids frequency, which allows wah-like effects. The effect footswitch uses buffered bypass and offers latching or momentary action. Power comes from the included 9.6 V DC adapter.
