The BASS9 is a polyphonic bass pedal from the Electro-Harmonix 9 Series. It uses a transposing algorithm tuned for dropping one to two octaves with good dynamics and tracking, and works from a standard guitar with no hex pickup, MIDI or modification.
A rotary mode knob selects one of nine programs: Precision, Longhorn, Fretless, Synth, Virtual, Bowed, Split Bass, 3:03 and Flip-Flop. The Virtual program lets the player adjust body density and neck length. Split Bass assigns notes below F#3 to a bass voice while the higher strings keep playing chords or melody. Flip-Flop is a logic-driven sub-octave generator. Two control knobs adjust parameters specific to each program.
Separate Effect and Dry volume knobs set the mix at the Effect output, and a second Dry output always carries the input signal at unity gain. The pedal has a single input, a footswitch with status LED and a selectable buffered bypass, and runs from the supplied power adapter.
