The Bass Clone is a compact analog chorus whose core circuit is nearly identical to the Small Clone. Chorus is made by mixing a modulated signal with the dry signal, and this pedal adds controls aimed at bass guitar so the low end stays tight.
A crossover switch removes low frequencies from the modulated half of the signal, which keeps the bottom end articulate and the notes well defined. Depth sets the amount of modulation and Rate sets its speed. Treble boosts or cuts the highs of the whole mixed signal, while Bass boosts or cuts the lows of the dry half only. Used together with the crossover switch, these allow a focused bass tone with a chorus shimmer on top.
The pedal uses true bypass switching, with a red LED showing when the effect is on. It has a mono input and an amp output on ¼" jacks, is housed in a die-cast case, and runs from the included 9V battery or an optional 9.6VDC-200mA adapter sold separately.
