8 Step Program

The 8 Step Program is a digital-controlled sequencer that outputs an expression or control-voltage signal to another device. It suits any parameter that responds to an expression pedal or CV source, such as oscillator pitch, filter cutoff or delay settings. Each of the eight steps has its own slider that sets the output level, and the sequence can run forward, in reverse, bouncing back and forth, or in random order.

Tempo is set with the Rate slider or the Tap footswitch, or the unit can follow an external MIDI clock from a drum machine or DAW. Tap Tempo Divide gives several rhythmic subdivisions of the tapped tempo. A rotary encoder with push switch edits glide rate, direction, sequence length and depth, and a digit display with mode LEDs shows the values. Separate Play and Reset footswitches start, stop and restart the sequence.

The pedal stores 10 presets, and an optional foot controller connected to the FC jack expands this to 100. The sequence leaves through the Exp/CV output, an expression pedal can be plugged into the Exp In jack, and MIDI arrives through the MIDI In jack. The receiving input must accept a voltage source and a TRS expression plug (sleeve heel, ring toe, tip wiper), with 2 to 9 VDC on the ring. A power adapter is supplied.
