The 44 Magnum is a pocket-sized analog power amp for electric guitar, though it can be used with any electric instrument. It supplies 44 watts into a speaker cabinet rated at 8 or 16 ohms and offers a large amount of clean headroom. Turning the volume up far enough drives it into saturation that behaves like a true amplifier overdrive.
Controls are kept simple: a volume knob and a Bright/Norm switch. The Bright position adds a subtle top-end boost or presence, while Norm leaves the signal neutral and flat. The unit is small enough to fit in the palm of a hand, so it can be carried in a gig bag as a backup or serve as the base of a larger rig.
A guitar, pedal or other instrument connects to the input jack with a standard 1/4" cable, and the input impedance is 2 MΩ. The output jack connects directly to a speaker cabinet, which must be 8 to 16 ohms. Power comes from the included 24VDC, 3000mA adapter.
