The BS283.2 is the bookshelf model in ELAC's Solano 2.0 series. It is a two-way, bass-reflex design that pairs a 150 mm woofer with an aluminum sandwich (AS) cone and a JET 6 tweeter. The crossover sits at 2400 Hz, and the stated frequency range is 41 Hz to 50 kHz.
The cabinet has softly curved sides and a high-gloss finish, offered in black or white. It measures 331 x 190 x 248 mm and weighs 8.0 kg. The series, which also includes a CC281.2 center channel and an FS287.2 floorstand model, is intended for both stereo and multi-channel setups.
Sensitivity is 85 dB at 2.83 V/m. The speaker is specified for amplifiers driving 4 to 8 ohms, with a recommended output of 40 to 200 W per channel. Nominal impedance is 4 ohms, with a minimum of 3.2 ohms, so it needs an amplifier that is comfortable with lower loads. Power handling is 70 W nominal and 100 W peak.
