The Miracord 80 is a two-speed, belt-driven turntable built around a high-mass platter weighing 5.6 kg on a complex bearing. A PID-controlled DC motor with optically controlled platter rotation speed keeps the speed steady, with a stated speed accuracy of +/- 0.33% at 3 kHz and wow and flutter below 0.15 %.
A real carbon-fiber tonearm of roughly 10 inches carries the cartridge. Its geometry is designed to reduce tracking angle error, which limits distortion and supports stereo imaging. The plinth is milled from solid wood and comes in high-gloss or veneered finishes, with brushed anodized aluminum panels. An optional cover is available to protect the mechanism from dust.
Output is through gold-plated RCA jacks, and a ground terminal is provided. Power consumption is 1.5 W in use and under 0.5 W in standby. The deck weighs 14 kg. The MRC801 is offered in a Walnut Black variant.
