MRC401

The Miracord 40 is a two-speed (33 / 45 RPM) belt-drive turntable. An electronically regulated DC motor with an integrated vibration damping system drives a 16 mm precision-balanced platter, which has a black painted centre and a sandblasted aluminium edge. The plinth is 21 mm high-density MDF with a low-resonance construction, and a rubber mat sits on the platter. Wow and flutter is stated as below 0.2%.

The 8.6" tonearm has an aluminium tube with a bearing, an aluminium collar, a brass counterweight and adjustable tracking force (0–25 mN). It carries an Audio-Technica AT95E moving-magnet cartridge that is factory aligned, so the deck is ready to play once it is out of the box.

An integrated MM RIAA phono preamplifier is built in, and the output can be switched between phono and line level, so the turntable can feed either an amplifier with a phono input or one without. Connection is by the supplied RCA cable with a ground lug. Power comes from an external adapter, supplied with EU, UK and North American plugs. Four finishes are offered: Satin Black, Adsum Cream, Walnut and Celestial Blue.
