Debut Reference DCR52

The DCR52 is the centre-channel model in ELAC's Debut Reference range. It is a 2-way bass-reflex cabinet built from CARB2-rated MDF, with a 1" soft-dome tweeter behind a waveguide and two 5-1/4" woofers with aramid-fibre cones on cast chassis. The crossover point is 2200 Hz and the stated frequency response runs from 55 Hz to 35,000 Hz.

Several changes over the earlier Debut line are listed: a full perimeter brace joins the top, bottom and side panels to cut cabinet vibration, the cast woofer chassis stiffens the front baffle, and two flared slot ports are meant to give more bass output with less port noise. The grille is more open to help the upper treble.

Connection is by 5-way metal binding posts, with a nominal impedance of 8 Ω and sensitivity of 87 dB at 2.83 V/1 m. It is offered in two finishes: black baffle with walnut cabinet, or white baffle with oak cabinet. It is designed to sit alongside the DBR62 bookshelf and DFR52 floorstanding models in the series.
