Carina CC2414

The CC2414 is the center channel of ELAC's Carina series. It uses a three-way design with a JET folded ribbon tweeter, a 5-1/4 inch aluminum cone midrange and a 5-1/4 inch aluminum cone woofer. The crossover points are 100 Hz and 3 kHz, and the stated frequency range is 50 Hz to 30 kHz.

The aluminum cones have a compound curvature shape. They sit on a rigid cast chassis with an oversized magnet and a vented pole piece, which are intended to lower distortion and improve power handling. The cabinet is softly curved and has a downward-firing bass reflex port, which allows more flexible placement in a room. The JET tweeter is handcrafted in Germany.

The speaker has a sensitivity of 87 dB (2.83 V, 1 m) and a nominal impedance of 6 ohms, with a minimum of 4.8 ohms. The recommended amplifier power is 30 to 200 watts per channel, and peak power handling is 120 W. It is designed to sit alongside other Carina models, such as the BS2434 bookshelf and FS2474 floorstanding speakers, in a multi-channel setup.
