The W820NB is a wireless over-ear headphone built around a 40 mm dynamic driver with a titanium diaphragm. It carries Hi-Res Audio certification from JAS and covers a frequency range of 20 Hz to 40 kHz. Hybrid active noise cancellation reduces ambient noise by up to 38 dB, and an ambient sound mode lets outside sound through, for example for announcements, without removing the headphones.
Battery life is rated at 49 hours with noise cancellation off and 29 hours with it on, and a full charge takes about 1.5 hours over USB-C. A game mode brings latency down to as low as 80 ms to keep audio and picture in step. A built-in microphone with voice call noise cancellation handles calls, and the design is lightweight at 220 g for extended wear.
The headphones connect over Bluetooth 5.0 using the A2DP, AVRCP and HFP profiles, with SBC as the audio codec. The Edifier Connect app is used to switch modes, including ambient mode, check battery status and read the user manual.
