The W820NB Plus is a closed-back, over-ear Bluetooth 5.2 headphone with hybrid active noise cancellation rated to a depth of -43dB (manufacturer lab figure). An ambient sound mode lets outside sound through without removing the headphones, and a deep-neural-network noise reduction system is used to keep voice calls clear in noisy places.
Sound comes from a 40mm dynamic driver with a titanium-coated composite diaphragm. The headphones carry Hi-Res Audio and Hi-Res Audio Wireless certification, and the frequency response extends to 40kHz. LDAC (up to 990kbps, Android devices only) and SBC are supported over Bluetooth, and the headphones can also be used wired over USB. A game mode reduces latency to about 0.08s.
Playback time is about 49 hours with ANC off and about 33 hours with ANC on (SBC codec), and charging is by USB-C. The EDIFIER Connect app provides preset EQ, ambient sound level adjustment, a shutdown timer, prompt volume, battery display and soothing sounds. The headband and ear cushions are padded, and the headphone arm is retractable to fit different head sizes.
