The R1380DB is a pair of active bookshelf speakers built around a two-way design. Each cabinet holds a 4-inch mid/bass driver and a 1-inch silk diaphragm tweeter, driven by a Class-D amplifier with an active crossover. The combined output is 42W RMS, split as 21W per side.
The cabinets are made of wood, which is used to limit resonance and reduce distortion. Controls sit on the right speaker's side panel as knobs, and a remote control covers the full set of functions.
For sources, the speakers offer Bluetooth 5.1 with Qualcomm aptX support, two analogue line inputs on RCA, a coaxial digital input and an optical digital input. This allows a phone, a TV, a CD player or a turntable preamp to be connected at the same time and selected as needed.
