Tentacle
The Tentacle is a controls-free analog octave-up guitar pedal that uses the same octave circuit as the maker's Hoof Reaper. It suits players who want a simple, always-ready octave-up effect to pair with fuzz, other octaves or a delay loop. It is no longer in production.

The Tentacle is a stand-alone analog octave-up effect built around the octave circuit from the Hoof Reaper pedal. It has no knobs: the player switches it on and the octave-up tone swells in. The effect is most pronounced with the neck pickup and when playing above the 12th fret. It can be used ahead of a fuzz, stacked with another octave-up, or placed in the effects loop of a delay.
Switching is handled by Flexi-Switch, a relay-based true-bypass system that supports both latching and momentary use. Tapping the footswitch once engages the effect and tapping again bypasses it. Holding the switch keeps the effect on only for as long as it is held. Because the relay needs power, no signal passes when the pedal is unpowered.
The pedal runs from a standard 9 V DC supply through a 2.1 mm negative-center barrel jack and draws 10 mA. The maker advises against higher voltages and recommends isolated, pedal-specific power supplies to keep noise down. Artwork is by Matt Horak, and the pedal carries a limited lifetime warranty.
