Pyramids

Pyramids is a digital stereo flanging pedal built on the same DSP architecture as the Avalanche Run. Its rotary Mode switch selects between eight flanger types: Classic, Through-Zero, Barber Pole Up and Down, Trigger Up and Down, Step and Random. A second rotary switch selects Live mode or one of five presets, which ship with example settings and can be overwritten.

Controls include Manual, Rate, Width, Mix, Feedback (positive and negative) and a multifunction Modify knob whose behaviour depends on the selected mode. A three-position Rate & Tap toggle sets the tap tempo subdivision, giving slower, 1:1 or faster sweeps. The Tap / Trigger footswitch sets tempo in most modes and re-triggers the sweep in the Trigger modes. Manual can also be controlled with an expression pedal.

The pedal has left and right inputs and outputs, so it can run in mono, mono-in/stereo-out, true stereo, or as two separate mono paths. In the Trigger modes an external source, such as a drum machine, sequencer or CV, can be fed into the left input to trigger the flanger. The dry path is analog and the wet path is digital. The Activate switch is a relay-based true-bypass Flexi-Switch with latching or momentary operation.
