Osmo Action

Osmo Action is a small action camera built around a 1/2.3" CMOS sensor with 12 MP effective pixels and a fixed f/2.8 lens with a 145° field of view. It records up to 4K at 60 fps with a maximum bitrate of 100 Mbps, and also offers 2.7K, 1080p up to 240 fps and 720p up to 240 fps. Slow motion, HDR video, timelapse and a manual mode are included, and up to five custom shooting modes can be saved. RockSteady electronic stabilisation is available, though it cannot be combined with HDR.

The body has two screens: a 2.25-inch touchscreen on the back and a 1.4-inch view-only screen on the front. Two built-in microphones record audio, and an external microphone can be attached through the USB-C port with a 3.5 mm adapter. The camera is waterproof to 11 m without a case and to 60 m with the separate waterproof case. It is also described as dust-proof. The lens filter cap can be swapped for another cap or an ND filter.

Footage is stored on a microSD card of up to 256 GB. The camera pairs with a phone over Bluetooth and Wi-Fi through the DJI Mimo app, which handles control, activation, firmware updates, editing and sharing. Voice commands work in English and Mandarin Chinese. Files can also be transferred over USB-C or by moving the card to a computer.
