The system pairs lightweight transmitters with a receiver that has a 1.1-inch AMOLED touchscreen and a dial. One receiver can work with up to four transmitters at once and can sync to seven further receivers. Mono and stereo output modes are available, and four-channel output is possible with select Sony cameras or computer software.
Each transmitter records internally in 32-bit float, saving an original file and an algorithm-enhanced file at the same time. Processing options include three voice tone presets, two noise cancelling levels and adaptive gain control. Timecode is embedded in recordings, and the receiver accepts and outputs timecode. Transmission hops between 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz, with an optional lossless mode at 48 kHz / 24-bit.
The receiver has a locking 3.5 mm TRS output, a 3.5 mm TRRS monitoring port and USB-C. Transmitters can also connect straight to a phone over Bluetooth, or to selected DJI cameras through OsmoAudio. Settings and firmware updates are handled on the receiver or in the DJI Mimo app. The charging case holds two transmitters and one receiver.
