The AVR-X6800H is a home theater receiver with 11 internal power amplifiers and processing for up to 13.4 channels, so the last two channels need an external amplifier. It decodes Dolby Atmos, DTS:X Pro, IMAX Enhanced, Auro-3D and 360 Reality Audio, and offers four independent subwoofer outputs for multi-sub setups.
Video handling covers seven HDMI inputs and three outputs, all 8K-capable, with 8K/60 Hz and 4K/120 Hz pass-through, HDR10+, Dolby Vision, VRR, ALLM and eARC. Analog sources are converted to HDMI, and 1080p/4K signals can be scaled up to 8K. Room correction is by Audyssey MultEQ XT32 with the supplied microphone, with Dirac Live available as a paid upgrade.
Network features include Ethernet, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, AirPlay 2, Spotify Connect and HEOS multi-room streaming, along with Alexa, Google Assistant and Siri control. Three zones can be fed with separate sources, and IP, RS232 and app control are provided for custom installs.
